The MSR pocket rocket is my go-to camp stove for backpacking. It is lightweight, powerful, and has decent balance.
As is common with the very simple backpacking stove (the MSR Pocket Rocket and the Snow Peak Gigapower are two prime examples) power control is iffy at best. The pocket rocket rarely runs on anything but full blast. It is a powerful little stove that boils water quickly, and is fairly fuel efficient, however if you want control of your heat you might be better off with something a little heavier and bulkier. (But hey those back country flap jacks might be worth it to you!)
That being said I don't see myself using anything but an MSR pocket rocket for a long time. I have consistently been happy with the stove's ability to light under adverse conditions, and the weight is spectacular.
I use my Pocket Rocket with a Snow Peak Trek 700 titanium cookset.
