I'm Kira. In March 2016 I left to attempt to thru hike the 2,189.1 mile Appalachian trail. I made it to the Mason-Dixon line at mile 1,064 before a serious case of tendonitis made me get off the trail and back to the real world.
I'm also a Geologist, a Purple Rain Adventure Skirts advocate and trail ambassador, and a lover of the outdoors.
Though my dreams of thru-hiking in 2016 fell short, I learned more in three months than I thought was possible, and I can't wait to see what adventures are on my horizon. For now I plan on settling into my career and blogging about amazing weekend trips to some of my favorite California destinations.
